RELAY (Recycled Equipment Lending for Adults and Youth) is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to giving essential medical comfort and mobility equipment a second life. Founded by youth leader Matthew Jung at age 17, RELAY was born from the simple idea that lightly used items, like crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs, should be shared, not wasted. Through collection drives, donation events, and ongoing community support, we connect these resources with individuals who need them most, free of charge. Our work blends compassion, sustainability, and practical help to make mobility and independence more accessible for all.
At RELAY, we believe everyone deserves the dignity of mobility and comfort. Our mission is to reduce barriers to essential medical equipment by collecting, cleaning, and redistributing gently used items back into the community. By extending the life of these valuable resources, we promote sustainability, reduce waste, and create a cycle of giving that benefits both people and the planet. Every item passed forward is another step toward a more connected, caring, and equitable community.
Your donations make a direct impact. We gladly accept new and gently used, clean medical comfort and mobility equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, scooters, bedside commodes, and similar items. Larger donation events are held quarterly, but we also arrange individual drop-offs by appointment when possible. To donate, please email us with a description of your items, and we’ll provide the next available drop-off date or event details. Together, we can keep essential equipment out of landfills and in the hands of those who need it.
RELAY offers essential equipment free of charge to anyone in need. We host public pick-up days one Saturday each month, with dates announced on our website and social media. You can also email us to ask about availability or reserve specific items when possible. Our inventory changes regularly based on donations, so we encourage you to reach out early and check back often. Whether for a short-term recovery or long-term need, we’re here to help you move forward.
RELAY holds frequent local events across Southern California. Our public donations & collections take place at our headquarters in Rancho Cucamonga, while private donations are typically organized on an as-needed basis. See our recent and future events below!
